the construction of xinjiang dabancheng wind farm, longyuan group started at the end of the 1980s. and the wind farm once had maintained its glory as the largest wind farm in china in a fairly long period of time.

shantou fuao wind farm that longyuan group started to build in 1994, which was put into operation to generate electric power in 1995, is the first wind power project commercially developed in china.

since the beginning of the 21st century, longyuan group has observantly grasped the latest trends of sustainable development and those at the level of national policies; it has decidedly proposed its strategic planning for making efforts to develop new energies with priority given to wind power. since 2005, the wind power installed capacity of longyuan group has realized its growth at a rate of nearly 100% year on year.

on dec. 31, 2009, the holding installed wind power capacity of the company was 4503.5 mw, ranking fifth in the world and first in asia.

up till dec. 31, 2009, longyuan group has successfully obtained the right to develop and manage three national concession projects, namely, the bayin concession project at baotou, inner mongolia, the phase-i concession project at tongyu, jilin, and the phase-ii concession project at rudong, jiangsu.
